Terms of Service

Alt Text Generator drafts accessibility-focused text from merchant-provided product and visible-image context.

The launch version is copy-only. It does not update product media or write generated text to Shopify; merchants review and copy an option they choose to use.

Drafts are suggestions, not guarantees of accessibility compliance, search ranking, accuracy, or legal compliance. Describe observable image facts and review every draft before use.

Provide product and visible-image details only. Do not enter customer information, credentials, or sensitive personal information.

• "App" refers to Alt Text Generator, published by Excelsior Creative.
• "Merchant" refers to the Shopify store owner who installs and uses the App.
• "AI Provider" refers to the third-party AI inference service (for example, OpenRouter) accessed through the Merchant's own API key.

We grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Apps through your Shopify store during the subscription term, subject to these Terms and the Shopify App Store Terms of Service.

• You are responsible for providing and managing your own AI Provider API key.
• You are responsible for all AI-generated content you choose to publish to your store.
• You must review all AI-generated content before approving write-back to Shopify.
• You are responsible for any costs incurred through your AI Provider usage.

You agree not to:

• Use the Apps to generate misleading, fraudulent, or harmful content.
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract the Apps' source code.
• Use the Apps in a manner that violates Shopify's Terms of Service or applicable law.
• Resell or sublicense access to the Apps to third parties.

AI-generated content may contain inaccuracies. The Apps use a preview-first workflow so you can review all output before it affects your store. We are not liable for content you approve and publish. Always review AI-generated content for accuracy, compliance, and brand voice before publishing.

The Apps are provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Apps or AI-generated content. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the Apps in the preceding twelve (12) months.

If the Apps offer a subscription plan, billing is processed through Shopify's billing system. Subscription fees are non-refundable except as required by law. You may cancel your subscription at any time through your Shopify admin.

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Apps after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
