Alt Text Generator requests only read_products. It does not request access to customers, orders, payment data, or analytics. Alt Text Generator drafts accessibility-focused text from merchant-provided product and visible-image context.

Provide product and visible-image details only. Do not enter customer information, credentials, or sensitive personal information.

Our apps use a bring-your-own-key (BYOK) model. You provide your own OpenRouter API key, which is stored in encrypted tenant settings. We use the key solely to make AI generation requests on your behalf. We do not share, log, or transmit your API key to any third party other than the AI provider you have selected.

The launch version is copy-only. It does not update product media or write generated text to Shopify; merchants review and copy an option they choose to use.

Drafts are suggestions, not guarantees of accessibility compliance, search ranking, accuracy, or legal compliance. Describe observable image facts and review every draft before use.

Tenant settings (including your encrypted API key and app preferences) are retained for as long as the app is installed. Usage logs are retained for spend and activity visibility and may be aggregated and anonymized for operational analytics.

When you uninstall an app, Shopify sends an app/uninstalled webhook. Upon receiving this webhook, we purge your tenant settings, encrypted API key, and app-specific preferences. Anonymized aggregate usage data may be retained.

• Shopify: OAuth authentication and store data access per granted scopes.
• OpenRouter: AI model inference using your API key.
• Sentry: Error monitoring (no merchant PII transmitted).
